ABOUT ME

Christopher Lau, P.E., M.B.A., was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and raised in Sugar Land, TX. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin's Cockrell School of Engineering. He then went on to earn his Master of Business Administration degree from Rice University's Jones Graduate School of Business, where he developed his leadership and management skills.

Throughout his career, Christopher has held various positions, including Deputy Project Manager and Lead Task Engineer, where he successfully managed complex projects from inception to completion. He has experience working for both public and private clients, and has worked on a variety of projects, including local roadway and bridge projects, freeway interchanges, and public transportation systems.

​

In addition to his professional work, he is a member of Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT), a non-profit organization that provides networking and professional development opportunities for young transportation professionals across the globe. As a member of YPT, Christopher has held various leadership positions, including Chair of the International organization, where he led teams across twenty-five chapters, developing innovative programming and initiatives to promote the organization's mission. He is also an active participant in other professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.

Outside of work, he is an avid traveler and enjoys trying new foods and wine. He has traveled to many countries and is always looking for his next adventure. In addition, he is also a growing investor, always looking for the next business opportunity to dive into. He manages his own AirBnB in Austin, TX, and also sells music memorabilia online to passionate music-lovers all around the world.
